Why consulting comes before buying tools

Most AI projects fail not because the technology does not work, but because they started in the wrong place. A tool gets bought that does not solve the organisation's real problem, the data it needs does not exist, or the team has no idea what to do with it.

Our job is to work out — before any purchase and any line of code — where your business actually loses the most time and money, and which of those problems AI genuinely solves. The first session is free, and if our conclusion is that AI is not worth it for you yet, that is what we will tell you.

Who this is for

We don't know where to start

You know AI could help, but you are stuck between dozens of options and claims with no clear starting point.

The budget is tight

You get one shot at this investment and want to be sure it goes into the right thing.

We bought a tool and nobody used it

You have already paid for a solution that never took hold in practice, and you want to understand why.

The CEO wants numbers

You need to show the expected saving or added revenue on paper before the project is approved.

The team is worried

You want to know which tasks get automated, what the current team does instead, and what training the change requires.

How the engagement works

  1. 1

    Free assessment session

A short conversation about your business, your processes and the problem putting the most pressure on you right now. Free, with no commitment.

  2. 2

    Reviewing processes and data

We talk to the people who do the work, measure the repetitive tasks, and check whether the data each idea needs actually exists.

  3. 3

    Opportunity list and prioritisation

Opportunities are ranked by financial impact, difficulty and risk, with ROI estimated from your own numbers rather than market averages.

  4. 4

    Roadmap and pilot project

You get a step-by-step roadmap that starts with one small, fast-payback project, so the assumptions are tested before any large investment.

  5. 5

    Training and enablement

We bring your team up to speed on what these tools can and cannot do, so delivery does not depend on one person or one contractor.

What the assessment covers

The assessment is not purely technical. We look at process, data, tools, people and budget together — a project usually fails at whichever of those five is weakest.

  • Repetitive, high-cost processes
  • Data quality, fragmentation and availability
  • Existing systems: CRM, accounting, inventory, telephony and website
  • Team skills and capacity
  • Budget, timing and internal policy constraints

The output belongs to you

The roadmap, the opportunity list and the estimates are documents handed to you, and you can execute them with anyone. We do not lock you in, and if the best answer to a problem is a tool we do not build, that is what we will recommend.

Why consult before you implement

A few weeks of assessment prevents months of building the wrong thing.

  • You start from your own real problem instead of buying a tool because of its marketing.
  • Before investing, you know where the ROI number comes from and which assumptions sit behind it.
  • The project begins with one small, measurable step rather than transforming the whole organisation at once.
  • You learn which ideas are simply not feasible with the data you have today, and what it would take to make them feasible.

Timing

From the free assessment session to a delivered roadmap usually takes about a week. In larger organisations, or when several departments need to be interviewed, it can take longer.

Cost

The first session is free and carries no obligation. If you decide to go further, the consulting engagement is priced by scope and you know the figure before it starts.

Frequently asked questions

Is the first session really free?

Yes. It is a free, no-obligation assessment session so both sides can see whether there is a problem worth solving at all.

What if you conclude AI isn't right for us?

Then we say so. Recommending that you hold off, or solve the problem with something simpler and cheaper, is a perfectly likely outcome of that session.

What exactly do we get?

A prioritised list of the opportunities we found, ROI estimates based on your own numbers, and an executable roadmap that starts with a small pilot project.

Do we have to hire Aivand to implement it?

No. The roadmap is your document and you can take it forward with your in-house team or any other supplier.

We're a small business — do we still need consulting?

For small businesses the free session is usually enough to establish a starting point. A full consulting engagement makes more sense for organisations with several departments and systems involved.
